S R Waite have been awarded a contract to carry out the full electrical installation to the new Blackpool & Fylde College – Lancashire Energy HQ.
Lancashire Energy HQ is an exciting initiative that will support traditional oil and gas as well as renewable and low-carbon energy generation training and skills. Due to open in 2017, the centre will also house the UK hub for NCOOG.
S R Waite Director Mike Waite and his site team will commence the full electrical installation package this month with scheduled completion in March 2017 as part of the £9.8million project, sited at the newly formed Blackpool Enterprise Zone.
The project represents significant investment in the region by the College and the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership, who are providing £6.2 million of Growth Deal funding towards the cost.
The building will include workshops and accommodate specialist high skills practical training for the Renewable and Oil/Gas/Wind sectors, together with teaching classrooms, staff and administration facilities, ancillary spaces, a kitchen and supporting spaces, a double height refectory and a double height atrium.
